Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Transportation on Long Island

DachiPlus provides specialized transportation for traumatic brain injury patients across Long Island — TBI rehabilitation, cognitive therapy, neurological follow-up, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. No-fault auto, workers' comp, Medicaid, and private pay accepted. Call (516) 754-7777.

Traumatic brain injury patients face a unique set of transportation challenges: cognitive impairments affecting communication, sensitivity to light and noise, unpredictable fatigue, medication side effects, and the need for a consistent, calm driver who understands TBI presentations. DachiPlus provides specialized transportation for TBI patients attending outpatient TBI rehabilitation programs, cognitive and neurological therapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and ongoing neurology follow-up. Most TBI transportation is covered by no-fault auto insurance or workers' compensation — we handle the direct billing so patients can focus entirely on recovery.

FAQ

TBI Transport — common questions

Do you have experience transporting traumatic brain injury patients?

+

Yes. TBI patients have specific transport needs — sensitivity to noise and light, unpredictable fatigue, communication difficulties, and the need for a calm, familiar environment. DachiPlus assigns consistent drivers for TBI patients, briefs them on behavioral patterns provided by the family or care team, and allows extra time for boarding and exit.

How is TBI transportation billed — no-fault or workers comp?

+

TBI resulting from a motor vehicle accident is billed through NY no-fault (PIP) insurance using NF-3 forms. Work-related TBI is billed through workers' compensation. We work directly with attorneys, adjustors, and case managers to handle billing — there is typically no upfront cost to the patient. Medicaid is also accepted for TBI patients who are eligible.
